You know what? Never a true word!
I used to think that 24 hrs was for living and I did! I worked long hours and enjoyed doing it and lived for working – UK, Germany. USA and Portugal. When I wasn’t working, I enjoyed socialising. Whether it be out with my husband and friends or keeping fit – weight training, aerobics, squash, theatre, rock concerts… You name it, I enjoyed it. Sleep was a inconvenience. Little did I know…
I crashed and burnt totally. A virus Guilliane Barre – left me with PVCFS and took my life for 10 years.
I slept for two years solid, ended up with Narcolepsy and have medication to stay awake. Rehab to get my legs back working which they now do and I appreciate life.
I returned to work 2 years ago but I don’t live for it.
I now know how important sleep is and try and get at least 7 hours sleep but occasionally when I have things on my mind the inevitable happens but meditation helps.
I’ve always enjoyed technology but I refuse to allow it to dictate my every waking hour.
Sleep is not only a great healer but it’s a necessity not to be abused.
